The owner of this historic Victorian home in Oak Bluffs contracted WampWorx to perform a challenging renovation in which a small poorly built space needed to be expanded and reconfigured to accommodate a modern, high end kitchen while honoring both the antique character of the home and restrictions imposed upon by the historic district. WampWorx continued to work with the client to refresh the home with interior paint, replace the roof with lifetime warranted shingles and remove ill-fitting replacement windows and install historically correct windows.

Green Home

WampWorx performed services to design and build an environmentally conscious and sustainable single family home in Mashpee, Massachusetts. The home features an insulated concrete form foundation, open cell foam insulation, radiant floor heat, bamboo flooring, water saving efficiencies including dual flush toilets, and 32 roof top solar panels. Sophisticated technologies were employed to heat and cool the home including a computerized boiler and heat recovery ventilation system. Energy Star qualified the home 47 percent more efficient than a comparable conventionally built home and WampWorx was awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

MBL Greenhouse

WampWorx performed services jointly with Conviron, a supplier of preconstructed greenhouse structures, to install a 600 square foot research building for the Marine Biological Laboratory, a world-class scientific institution located in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. WampWorx prepared the site for the greenhouse and then performed the services to install the building and all electrical, HVAC, plumbing and the link building to the MBL’s Ecosystem Center. The research greenhouse is now used to study global microscopic, unicellular, free-living green algae which are found in desert microbiotic crusts worldwide.

Custom Carpentry

WampWorx was contracted by a Cape Cod homeowner to design and build an encasement for a new fireplace. WampWorx worked with the client to make the best and most functional use of this space while maintaining the character of this beautiful Colonial home. The custom finish carpentry includes a mantle, cabinetry, bookshelves and an entertainment center. WampWorx was retained by the client to do additional work and referred to other homeowners in the area.

Southern Exposure

This 6,000 square foot home in Chilmark enjoys the southern exposure of a Vineyard summer, but the owners quickly discovered that it also endures harsh island winters. After returning to chipped and peeling paint on this multi-million dollar home WampWorx was contracted to perform an initial restoration to it’s original splendor, then annual to perform maintenance to maintain the investment.

Mansion House

WampWorx assisted Bufftree Construction of New Bedford in the rebuilding of the historic Mansion House Inn in Vineyard Haven, on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. WampWorx supplied a skilled and well managed labor force throughout the 35 room project that was completed in less than one year after the original structure was consumed in a fire.

Gay Head Light

The Martha’s Vineyard Historical Society selected WampWorx to paint the interior of the Gay Head Lighthouse originally constructed in 1856. An historic landmark and functional mariner’s beacon, the lighthouse is also one of the island’s primer visitor attractions. After removing centuries of lead paint from the lamp gallery and the 51 foot steel spiral staircase that ascends the brick tower, WampWorx resurfaced the interior metal with marine quality primers and paints and was awarded a contract to perform annual maintenance on the structure.
